Phasing out course

The Master of Business and Technology requires two years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course is offered by the School of Computer, Science, Engineering, and Mathematics within the Faculty of Science and Engineering.

The Master of Business and Technology is available in combination with an approved Flinders degree (the companion degree) or as a graduate entry stand-alone award.

The Master of Business and Technology can be combined with the following:

Students may only undertake either the Bachelor of Business and Technology or The Master of Business Technology.

*See Appendix A for awards which are no longer offered to commencing students, but can be undertaken as a combined degree with The Master of Business and Technology if a student is currently enrolled in the listed degree.

Admission requirements

The minimum requirements for consideration for entry to all undergraduate courses are specified in detail in the University Entry Requirements.

The Master of Business and Technology is not available to graduates of the Bachelor of Business and Technology award.

Graduate Entry
Applicants must hold an approved Science, Engineering or Business degree from Flinders University, or an equivalent qualification from another approved institution.

Undergraduate Entry
Applicants must be enrolled in an approved 108 or 144 unit Science, Engineering or Business degree* from Flinders University and successfully completed at least 36 units of that degree with a minimum GPA of 4. Students enrolled in an approved 108 unit Science, Engineering or business degree and who are planning to undertake honours are encouraged to enrol in this award instead of the Bachelor of Business and Technology.

Program of study

To qualify for The Master of Business and Technology a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic, according to the program of study below.  Graduates of 4-year science, engineering or medical science awards (or 3-year awards plus honours) may receive up to 36 units of credit.

Not all topics are necessarily available in a given year.

No credit is granted for previous studies for students who have completed (or are currently enrolled in) a 3-year award.

Any topic that broadly duplicates a topic undertaken towards a previous degree must be replaced by a topic taken from the Business and Technology option topics listed in Table B. To request approval to enrol in an alternate topic please put in a FAQ help request.

Students who have completed the first 36 units of the Program may choose to exit with a Bachelor of Business and Technology.

This award has two schedules:

  • Schedule 1 - For students who are currently undertaking a combined degree with a 3 year award and those who are entering as graduate entry students
  • Schedule 2 - For students who are currently undertaking a combined degree with a 4 year award

Students undertaking the award as part of a combined degree will not be eligible for the award until all of the requirements for that degree and those of the science, engineering or business degree with which it is paired have been completed.
